Why we exist
Most wellness shopping is bought twice
Once for the photograph, and again six months later when the first one cracks, peels or simply stops being reached for.
We started AEVÉ because the alternative to that cycle was never a more expensive version of the same object. It was a smaller catalogue, chosen more slowly, by people willing to say no to most of what they were offered.
So the range stays deliberately short. Every category here holds a handful of pieces rather than a wall of options, because a wall of options is a decision passed back to you.
Our standards
How we choose
Four questions every piece has to survive before it reaches the catalogue.
- We use it first
Nothing is listed until someone here has lived with it for at least a season. Not a sample weekend — a season, on a shelf we look at every day.
- It has to age well
Materials that improve or at least hold: cork, stone, brass, glass, dense linen. If a piece looks worse after a year of honest use, it is the wrong piece.
- The claim has to be true
We would rather describe what something does plainly than reach for language we cannot substantiate. If we cannot back it up, it does not go in the copy.
- It has to be repairable or replaceable
Where a part wears out, we want to know it can be replaced without binning the whole object. That question decides more purchases than price does.
What we do not do
We do not run permanent sales, invent scarcity, or describe a product as clinically anything without the evidence on file. We do not stock a piece we would not use, and we do not pretend a short catalogue is a limitation. It is the point.
